Tremendously In Focus

The Book That Awoke Something in Me: Gotikhana by Runyx

Hello, hello! We are back again—but this time, not with mafia romance , not with Christian Alistair or Ronan Markov or Nico Russo . This time, I’ve fallen into something entirely different. Something darker. Something gothic. This book is not your usual mafia or billionaire romance—it’s a  teacher-student gothic dark romance  written by the incredible, mysterious author  Runyx . And let me just say it straight: this book woke something inside me that I didn’t even know existed, and maybe even something I wish had stayed sleeping. Why This Book Hooked Me So Hard When I first picked it up, I thought it was just a forbidden student-teacher romance. But no—this is  gothic dark romance , with layers of obsession, danger, and emotional intensity that had me devouring it in less than 24 hours. The writing is raw, unfiltered, and bold. There’s one scene I can’t get out of my head: “Whatever this is, it cannot happen. You’re my student, and I’m your teacher. But worse...

The Deception Trilogy by Rina Kent – A Love Story That Owns You

 Hello, hello, and welcome back!

Today, we’re diving deep into one of the most emotional, gut-wrenching, and beautiful dark romance trilogies I’ve ever read — The Deception Trilogy by Rina Kent.

I’ve realized something about Rina Kent: she doesn’t just write books. She writes experiences. Her words made me cry, laugh, ache, and even blush — all within the same chapter. This trilogy didn’t just entertain me; it consumed me.

A Love Story of Possession and Devotion

The Deception Trilogy revolves around three unforgettable characters — Adrian Volkov, Leah Morelli, and Winter Cavanaugh. Though the heart of the story is Adrian and Leah’s relationship, Winter’s presence is hauntingly significant.

What struck me the most about this trilogy was Adrian’s love for Leah. It’s not soft, it’s not easy — it’s fierce, possessive, and unapologetically raw. At one point, Adrian says:

“She’s my wife, my son’s mother, fucking mine and I’ll go through hell itself if it means keeping her there.”

That line stayed with me. Adrian is the kind of man who doesn’t just love — he claims. He wants Leah to live, breathe, exist in his world, near him, for him. And honestly? That level of devotion is intoxicating.

If you’ve ever dreamed of a love so consuming that it scares you, this trilogy is for you.

Love from Both Sides

What I love about Rina Kent’s writing is that she doesn’t just explore male possessiveness. She gives equal weight to Leah’s perspective, to her ownership of Adrian and her need for him.

There’s a scene where Adrian says to Leah:

“You are a masochist to my sadism, Leah.”

And somehow, it feels like the perfect description of their dynamic — dark, twisted, yet tender.

Leah’s POV is equally beautiful:

“He provided me light — the man who showed me a different world, one where I’m cared for and I come before anything else. The man who fought for me when I didn’t have the will to fight for myself. The man who saved me even when he tortured me, who took my hand when I thought there was no hope left for me. The man who gave me the most precious gift in the form of Jeremy and nurtured him with me. He provided me light, even when he himself was always used to the darkness.”

If that doesn’t make you cry, do you even have a heart?

The Passion That Burns Through Every Page

Some of my favorite scenes are when Adrian and Leah let their walls down completely.

“What do I smell like?” she asks.
“Like roses and fucking addictions,” he replies.
“How do you know what addictions smell like?”
“I didn’t — until you.”

This isn’t just romance; this is obsession, devotion, and worship. And it’s the kind of love story that ruins you for anything less.

Why This Trilogy Stays With You

I think this is what love should be. Messy. Complicated. Full of pain, full of passion, but also full of growth. The Deception Trilogy reminded me that true love isn’t passive — it’s a fight, every single day, to choose each other no matter how dark the world around you becomes.

✨ If you love emotional, character-driven, dark romance books that make you feel everything at once — this trilogy needs to be on your reading list.

Why Dark Romance Speaks to My Soul

There’s something about dark romance that other genres just can’t touch. It’s messy, imperfect, and brutally honest about human emotions. The Deception Trilogy isn’t just about falling in love — it’s about breaking apart and putting yourself back together with someone who refuses to let go of you, no matter how ugly it gets.

Adrian and Leah’s love is not the kind of love you read about in fairy tales. It’s not neat or polite. It’s obsessive, territorial, possessive — the kind of love that makes you question your morals and still crave more.

And maybe that’s why I love it so much. Because life isn’t neat. Life is messy. And if we’re lucky, we find someone who chooses to stay through the mess, who says, “I see every dark and broken part of you, and I still choose you.”

Why You Should Read The Deception Trilogy

If you want a love story that:
✅ Makes you cry and then laugh through your tears
✅ Feels like a punch to the chest one minute and a warm hug the next
✅ Explores darkness but still finds the light

…then this trilogy is exactly what you’ve been searching for.

💡 Pro tip: Read it slowly. Savor it. Highlight your favorite quotes. These books aren’t meant to be rushed — they’re meant to be felt.

Final Thoughts + Your Turn

Reading The Deception Trilogy was like stepping into another world where every emotion was dialed to a ten. It made me jealous, made me crave a love that strong, and reminded me why I read dark romance in the first place — because it lets me feel everything I’m too afraid to feel in real life.
